Saban benched a Heisman QB in national champ game

Because he played like shit (Jalen Hurts) in favor of a true freshman Tua Tag-whatever. The "backup" won them a championship.

I'm not saying Hooker would carry us to the promise land, however, 4 turnovers from qb1 is unacceptable and we should be sitting him to see if Hooker can provide a spark.

If not.. We lose the game anyway, but atleast give the guy a shot. His offer list coming out of high school includes: ncst, ND, Clemson, fsu, Stanford, Nebraska, and a double handful of other p5 schools.

Ryan Willis offers: Illinois, Kansas St, Iowa St, Kansas.

I'm not saying offers are a direct correlation of success, however there IS evidence that higher star recruits = higher ceiling.

My issue is we have high caliber players on the team that do not sniff the field. Willis inherited the position he's in and Fuente doesn't have the sack to make the change - can anyone on this board ever fathom Fuente make a QB change mid game in a national champ game?? Not in a million years.

Frustrating to say the least. Fuente encourages an "open" competition in camp, but there's been zero evidence he won't automatically play the expected started. It's lip service and a lame tactic to motivate the anointed qb1. Noone has been unseated from qb1 barring an injury regardless of play since Fuente took the reigns

I'm over it. Souring on the staff. Rant over.
