I'm not technology shy -- I just dislike streaming. It has a lack of backwards/forwards movement capability relative to the super-fast movement of a DVR (very important when you want to jump forward or backwards quickly, or speed-scroll through a lot of content, like an hour or more), it's sluggish to go from one show to another, and "content discovery" is difficult, versus just bringing up a guide and scrolling through it. And as I have said repeatedly, streaming a live event that runs 90 seconds behind the actual event isn't an option for me.

I think, compared to the traditional cable/satellite feed and guide and DVR capabilities, that streaming kinda sucks. Not everyone agrees, but it's not entirely a "technology shy" or "age" dynamic.
