Laaser did a "Chalk Talk" in Greensboro for the Triad Hokie club last night.
While he started acknowledging the huge announcement about Bud Foster, he did spend lots of time talking about, and answering questions about, the football team.
Some of my random take aways:
(1) He expects Jalon Holston to have a big year.
(2) He believes that Keshawn King can be a star, a "featured running back... a three down back" with the ability to run between the tackles, and to catch the ball out of the backfield. But probably not this year.
(3) He's worried about our kicking game, and hopes that Brian Johnson can work through his "issues" (confidence).
(4) He is very high on James Mitchell, thinks that he will be on "everyone's post season all ACC list".
(5) He says that VT has no idea about the eligibility issues with Burmeister or Hoffman. He mentioned that Hoffman is practicing with the starters, and he thinks he might be our "best" offensive lineman.
(6) He was excited about Tisdale and Barno at LB, although Dax and Ashby are solidly in the first positions. He did not seem excited about Devon Hunter (thought he would play, but he wouldn't "jump off the page" with his play).
