We've had 3 years in a row making it to the NCAA's for the

first time in 25 years, we've lost the coach and the skill/experience of the people who got us there, we've got no decent history of selling out Cassell, and for the next 2-3 years in a BEST case scenario we're going to struggle to win like we did last year....and replacing Cassell would cost somewhere around $150 million. Doesnt' sound like a good idea right now to me. We've proven under Buzz we can win with our current arena if we have the right coach and the right players, so there's no good argument that says we can't win UNLESS we replace Cassell (key word is REPLACE).

If we had enough alumni / other contributors who could GIVE the money (vs. financing it) to pay for it...I'm all for it..but there's not more than a few Hokies who would have the means to do that, and they didn't get all that money by investing in an enterprise that can't sell out the current arena more than a handful of times / year. Refurbish...yep.. Replace right now...suicide especially if we're borrowing a big stash of cash to make it happen.
