The de-commitment of Hyatt is a concern because he is a 4-star recruit

If the offense is going to start "carrying its fair share of the weight" and not relying on the defense to win games, then it needs to recruit better and more talented players. Perceptually speaking, it is more difficult under this climate to find highly talented recruits slipping through the cracks. So the odds are lower for VT that it can recruit 2-star or 3-star players and have a large percentage of them end up playing like they are 4-star or 5-star.

Now it is possible that Hyatt could end up being a bust. Even if 1/3 of all incoming recruits will end up being a bust or under perform, I would much rather have as many high 3-star and up as possible in a class because the other 2/3 will either meet or exceed expectations.
