I don’t want CBF to wrap up anytime soon, but I would believe that he will eventually want to leave on a high note, and I don’t know how long it would collectively take the current D staff to get there. How long will it take CJH and CPP to really make a significant impact on D improvement, D recruiting, etc?

With that, I think Torrian Gray could effectively replace CBF. I wonder in writing if any Fuente reconciliation would be necessary? I’d definitely feel confident in his hire though, given his deep VT knowledge, plus everything else he’d bring from his experience on other teams. The other side to that would be that VT might need a new coach to replace CCW someday too.
