Having caveated my statement with the below, I *will* say that all 5 of
those teams either consistently beat us (fuente era), or consistently play us close. not a single one of them is even remotely a gimme. I would say all 7 of our home games are more of a gimme than any of our 5 road games...which are typically harder to win than home games to begin with (though you wouldn't have known it from watching us last year).
++BC loses a lot, and is probably the closest to a gimme of the bunch. Especially since I like the way our coaching staff preps for season openers under fuente. But they still return Dillon and their QB. Fuente is 2-1 vs BC
++ GT is next closest to a gimme since they are going through a system change, but that doesn't automatically mean they will be bad in my opinion. Their biggest struggle in the transition will probably be on the OL. Fuente is 0-3 against GT, and until he beats them, I will not assume he is GOING to beat them. We have been better than them on paper in each of the 3 seasons prior and still lost.
++ uva is getting some love as a possible coastal champ this year. They will be a very tough out. But they are still uva, so they come next on my list
++ Miami has won the last 2 against Fuente, and always has betters Jimmy's and Joe's. Hopefully we can outcoach them in Diaz's first year, but I'm certainly not counting on it.
++ ND is a top 15 team. unless you think we are also a top 15 team, this looks like a loss.
