While it is true that Chris Smith '61 was drafted 14th, there were only 9 teams that comprised the NBA. So he was drafted in the second round. Dell Curry was drafted 15th in 1966 when there were 10 teams in the NBA. Therefore both Smith and Curry were actually drafted in the second round. Whereas, Nickeil Alexander-Walker was drafted 17th of 30 teams that now are in the NBA and he therefore, was drafted in the FIRST round. I was there at VT when both Chris and Dell were there. I received degrees in ME both BS and MS. They were exciting to watch.
