Regardless, my point remains...AT THE TIME it was a major shocker. But with the benefit of watching the rest of the season play out (which ESPN had before doing these ESPY nominations) it's not such a big shocker after all. Yes, still a significant upset, but I would certainly argue that 4-8 Akron of the MAC defeating Northwestern (9-5, B1G West champs) AT Northwestern is a bigger upset than 4-8 ODU winning at home against 6-7 VT. And there were plenty of other games I am sure that would also fit that bill. It was a major upset, which happen several times a year...it was not an upset of Epic Proportions that deserves some sort of award.
