Given Hill's history and I believe his short fuse, I wouldn't assume


that Hill wouldn't have had a meltdown at some point during the season even if VT had beaten ODU. If VT had escaped Norfolk with a close win, then he still may have had his meltdown after the ODU game. Assuming he kept his composure after the ODU game, then the next logical choice would be after the Notre Dame beat down. At least you have to consider that VT would have been ranked in the Top 10 or maybe Top 5 heading into the Notre Dame game.

Regardless of when (or if) he had his meltdown, I am not sure that changes the outcome of the GT game. Even if he had played in the GT game, I am not sure it would have changed the outcome of it. At least I see the GT game as being no different than the Pitt game. Since I am on the fence about Hill's impact on the BC game, I am willing to concede the possibility given the close score. Although I am leaning towards BC still winning the game, but by a closer margin.
