So I am not sure if the 757 was that much of a secret to Big Boys vs. being an area the Big Boys chose not to mine for whatever reason. You could even make the case that the game and recruiting environment was different in the 80s and prior decades, so players may have had a different mindset or lacked this "need" to play at a big school like you see with today's recruits.
