If he wasn't a great CEO at FSU, then he wouldn't have gone 304-97-4


and won 2 national titles as FSU's HC. Based on what I have read about him, he started to become during the 80s (hired by FSU in 1976) and his coordinators were basically doing the "real coaching." It didn't really become obvious that he was a figure head HC until the 2000s.

I don't disagree that it was a mistake for him to keep his son as the OC. However, all great CEOs have made at least 1 mistake in their life because no human is perfect.
