EYBL is premier summer league AAU circuit

So upcoming seniors (2020 class) will mostly all play in it if given the opp. The premier players in the country... top 100 are all pretty much in it. It is the spot where lightly recruited kids can explode on the scene and rise to the top.. like Colin Sexton for example. He may have been unranked and blew up on the circuit and rose to a top 20 kid. This is not out of the ordinary.

Guessing there may be like 80-100 teams across the country sponsored by guys like Durant, Melo, Beal etc and then the season culminates in the EYBL Peach Jam (upcoming) where the top teams in each division qualify only. Nahiem's Georgia Stars were decent but not good enough to qualify to play. I believe the top 4 or so in each division qualify. Boo Williams is a perpetual qualifier for the Peach Jam for instance although this may have been a bit of a down year for them.

FWIW, I believe Buzz had a spot to fill and gave it to Chico based solely on his EYBL showing for the CP3 team. He was one of, if not the best, kid on the team and far better than the Langley kids or the Big that committed to South Florida. EYBL stats are one of the first places I go to see how they perform on the big stage which is SO much bigger than the HS level, particularly if the kid balled out but the recruiting rankings have not had a chance to catch up. Nahiem's numbers suggest he is deserving of a big bump.
