There is a difference....
between living off your past in terms of being considered a program of national stature and being evaluated year after year as a contender. Nebraska hasn't been considered a contender since sometime around the point they got rid of Solich nor are they trotted out annually as a Big Ten contender. Miami is not thought of much differently than Nebraska from a national perspective these days either but, the fact they get trotted out annually in the Coastal is a reflection of the national perception of the Coastal Division of the ACC.
