I think he was told he wasn’t going to be reinstated by Sands (who


suspended him), and that his scholarship was good through the Spring semester so he could graduate. Also, Buzz may have told him to keep quiet.

I don’t disagree with what you say, but there are a lot of unknowns in this case that we just don’t have privy to the related information.
