Your assumption would be incorrect

I do care whether VT sports do well or not. However, now that I am going to turn 42 in July, I realize a lot of things in life are beyond my control. Since life is too short and filled with its own problems, why worry about things beyond my control?

Also, I don't think I dwell (emotionally speaking) on outcomes of sporting events (win or lose) as much as I did in my teens, 20s, and maybe early 30s. I mean I do get excited when a team wins and mad, frustrated, or disappointed when a team loses. I just find myself "turning the page" (as Bob Seger would say) more quickly now than when I was younger. For the record, I do consider myself to be just as much of a sports junkie today as when I was a preteen.
