Probably need to broaden the inquiry to playoff contenders


To me there are multiple levels of success:

-Winning the NC
-Playing for the NC
-Getting into the playoffs
-Making it to a 'BCS Bowl'

Clearly there USED to be an avenue to the NC for teams like us. We made it there in 1999. But with the playoff, that avenue might be closed.
