A great travesty, most over looked VT all time great basketball player in history. His jersey should have the first to hung on display in Cassell!! The greatest interior player ever and greatest of all time in the past and years ahead! No one will ever compare to Chris as an interior player. We have a couple players whose jerseys unequivocally do not deserve to be on display in Cassell!!!! We also have a few players in the 60's and maybe in the 70's eras who are being done a significant disservice by not having their jerseys retired!!! Who made the current decisions do not have the ability to evaluate basketball players, their contributions honored in Cassell!!! it is major and needs to be immediately corrected!!

Since we could play not at the varsity level our freshman year I had to scrimmage against Chris Smith almost every day...you have to battle like crazy to even try to contain him. I greatly admire him when I say he was a human "Freak" to compete against him....I say that with all respect possible!! I continue to have contact with Chris,,,he is also a great person....If I were picking an All time VT team..he is pick number one by far..no one close..
