Ultimately location hurts donation giving that trickles down to recruiting

with available spending. People site Clemson and PSU as equally rural located, but both have much better locations with reference to closer proximity to many more available donors. PSU is dead center of a state with TWICE the population as Virginia, so twice the chances for donations and season ticket holders. Clemson is located just hours from Charlotte and Atlanta where many alums live. If VT were located in Charlottesville, we could have easily filled a 80,000 football stadium during the 2000's on a regular basis. JMHO, the donation giving would be higher also if located in the middle of the state.
