I swrved on the Board of Advisors for the Business School at GWU. A fellow member of the board was a CEO at a D.C. area IT company. He was also a trustee and donor at the University of Maryland.

I offered him tickets to the 2004 game in Blacksburg, but he had a conflict and could not go.

In 2005 I asked him if he could find me seats at our game in College Park. He found us two seats in the 5th row on the 45 yards line behind the Maryland bench!

My son and I got our drinks and went to our seats. The row right in front of us had three Hokes in full gears. Maroon was everywhere. We had 12,000 fans
at our rivals stadium! The Washington Post noted this in their article about the game. There comment was "These are our Hokies".

Our cheers drowned out the Maryland crowd and our team won easily 28-9.

Our seats were in the middle of the Terrapin Club section. A couple of their fans asked us to sit down, to which the reply was "you go to the stadium to stand and cheer for your team"
