The irony is that I think the school reps are the people
who end up making most of the "NCAA" decisions. At some point I would think society would start to take a closer and harder look at the moral compass of the schools and the various people representing the school on various associations (i.e. NCAA, NAIA, etc). I am not suggesting that the NCAA, in the truest sense of the form, doesn't have its problems. I have recently formed the opinion that when people have issues with the "NCAA," in most cases their "issue" is really with the schools and the people who represent the school under the NCAA banner.
Given that the schools created the NCAA rules and bylaws and the NCAA has a relatively small staff to administer those rules, maybe it is time for a major restructuring of the NCAA so the schools no longer have the ability to self-govern themselves.
