It's possible a kid or two is on there because the coaches have either not appreciated the player's ability, but I bet not many.

IMO, there are two classes of players that make up most of the Portal entrants. 1) Guys that are or are turning into locker room cancer. 2) Guys that have have their heads screwed on right but realize that the level of play where they are now is above their pay grade. However, they still like to compete in football so will go to a place where either the general level of play is less than at VT's level, or to a place that devoid of kids at their position.

This stuff has been happening forever. VT just seems to have more of them than is the norm, and because the formal NCAA Portal came into existence for the first time this year, much more notice for those who choose to use it.

Key will be next year's Portal. If VT has another large number compared to most other schools, THEN maybe a problem might be present.
