If we go 7-5 with this schedule I expect we have a new head whistle
That would be a horrific result and point to us being significantly worse that we were last year. We're quite literally #1 in the entire country in returning defensive production (not sure this is great) as 95% of our production is returning this year. Looking at it objectively, this is probably the weakest schedule we've had since before we joined the Big East.
Worse:
BC - loses like 10 seniors off their defense
Pitt - loses the entire oline and like 3 running backs
GT - Abandoning the triple option with a roster built for it
ODU - Loses the miracle QB and both WRs, albeit replaced by Kumah
Duke - Loses a possible 1st round pick at QB
Notre Dame - Loses a ton off their defense and at skill positions
UVa - Keeps their QB, but loses I believe 4-5 three year defensive stars
Better:
Miami - New coach, same QB problems, should be better though
UNC - Will be improved with new coach and returning talent
Don't know anything about Wake, Rhode Island, or Furman, but those should be guaranteed wins.
