I was an finance/engineering major (not at Tech), and most people's perspective was engineering just took more time, not necessarily more difficult but more time consuming.

That said, what is even more interesting here is that there was a lot of talk (often from QP himself) that Tech's engineering program was one of the largest factors behind his decision.
