Like all of you, I am extremely interested in the composition of the coaching staff that will be assembled by CMY. It will be vital, especially with the lot that has been left by the previous coach, that this new group can recruit and recruit hard instantly.

Let's hope that KJ Blackshear decides to return for a senior season and enjoys his graduate studies at Tech. Let's also hope that Wabissa Bede decides to return from the portal and sign on to our new coaching staff for his final two years of eligibility.

As for Landers Nolley, I have to tell you that as a Hokie Club donor, I am furious that we have paid for one year of his schooling while he was working out his eligibility issues, only to see him ride off to the next stop. I WANT OUR MONEY BACK!

With all of that being said, I think it is time to start looking at the Transfer Portal not as a lingering boogey man but as a way to get some much needed, quality personnel. Texas Tech went to a championship game with key players from the transfer system like Mooney and Owens. Zach LeDay, Seth Allen, Shane Henry all played vital roles in the program after coming via transfer. So, let's embrace the Transfer Portal and sell some experienced players on the availability of playing time and a chance to run in the ACC.
