Roanoke/Blacksburg/Christiansburg. If VT wanted to it could build a venue that would steal everything that is currently going to Roanoke and draw the same kinds of crowds. Build it and they will come. It might take a few years to reset folks minds as to the destination but it could happen. Population density within a 1.5 hour drive would support it.

Quick add... Roanoke population = 99k. Charlottesville = 50k. I know Charlottesville draws crowds from RVA and a little from DC but Blacksburg could do the same. Demographics are good enough and no decent venue in the region.
