VT has been mediocre for so long, and Buzz brought us out of the basement, Seth did not really and was labeled as caustic. I feel that this was a chance for VT to springboard off the success of Buzz and bring in a big named proven coach who can recruit nationally. I looked at the Wofford players and see some that are not totally regionally recruited but still. Yes he has knocked off some big names in BB, and will benefit from better resources. But I am not sold on his success at the ACC level nigh after night. Being able to get prepared for a game on your schedule is one thing but sustaining that over a season is vastly different.

This is going to get me some flack, but I am fearful that a coach from SW Virginia with a regional accent is not going to be able to recruit nationally. Blacksburg is not viewed as a basketball mecca and that makes it even a more difficult challenge.

I hope that I am wrong, but I don't want to see what Buzz has done crash and burn and we are back in the basement again. Let's hope that he hires excellent recruiters who can go out and get talent from across the country and continue the success.
