Not on the field, where the team has gotten progressively worse, and not on the recruiting trail, where VT basically has barely progressed, if at all, from the Beamer era.

With that said, to Whit's credit, on paper, Fuente was probably in the top 2-3 football coach targets in America at the time. Fuente's lack of success is not Whit's fault, but "the buck stops here." If Fuente continues to "not succeed" and Young is a failure, I think Whit would have to be terminated.
