I think he did an ample job and appreciate him getting us above average...


in most years and good enough this year to make a Sweet 16. But it took him 5 years to develop this scrappy team and “army of midgets” to coin his phrase a few years ago.

But looking back, Greenberg did just as well record-wise, but got shafted by the committees repeatedly. I think Buzz was just slightly better than Greenberg. This Summer when he lost assistants and the recruiting wasn’t looking stellar, I had a thought he was thinking of being somewhere else. I would have never dared mentioning that on TSL for the fear of being blasted, but the thought crossed my mind. And looking back, he may have checked out last summer with staff and recruiting, but knew he developed a good enough team to help his resume for this year.

That said, I appreciated hs efforts, but he is no longer a Hokie and the Buzz chapter is in my rear view mirror. If it turns out that Tech is just a clearinghouse for developing coaches for schools with more cash, then we need to get a better coach than Buzz.
