it was maybe 12 years ago. probably 3-4 nights on board. one full day in Bermuda. I went with my wife, sister/BIL and their three kids (3-11), and my parents. Food was okay, but I'm not a really picky eater to begin with. My favorite foods were this afternoon cookout at the main pool that had ribs and burgers. The sit down dinner wasn't bad, but no better than a mid-upper level restaurant (Great American restaurant group, for example). Portions at sit-down were small. Someone told me in advance to order two of them, which worked for my BIL and I. Drinks were expensive, so I didn't do that much - maybe a couple of beers per day. I do recommend the unlimited soda cup, which gives you refills all over the boat. Well worth it for me, as I like to have something to drink other than water or coffee.
as has been said, some people like cruises, others don't. If you've never been, I'd recommend at least trying it. Especially if it's a shorter cruise that you don't have to fly to get to. If you like it, go on another one. My parents love cruises and have been on at least 50 of them. For me, it's not really my thing. I'd much rather be on a beach or a ski trip and be able to explore whatever I want to do. The one cruise I would do now is the Disney cruise, which is apparently it's own animal. The people I know that have been on them love them, especially with younger kids (ages 4-12/13 or so)
