Gminski played at a private school in Connecticut; Masuk.
He graduated a year early from high school and went to Duke.
We scrimmaged them before playoffs my junior year. My team had a player who ended up playing for Kentucky and ultimately for Golden State (before Golden State was cool.). BOth my guy and Gminski were sophomores at the time and had an epic battle. The played evenly but the guy I was guarding killed me so we lost the scrimmage. ;). A few years later they played against each other again for the national championship where Kentucky beat Duke. 1978 I believe.
