It really depends on how and why the player leaves. If it is related to
family issues like needing to be closer to a sick loved one or just plain home sickness we should all be supportive. If a player does not like Blacksburg or the program that is OK too. Should a player believe they would excel more in another system or at another school I can understand the transfer to decision. If they are not getting playing time I also have some sympathy. Those are all understandable reasons. That explains the why. The how they leave is what determines their reputation and legacy they leave behind. If they are thankful for their opportunity and don't grind any axes when they leave then we all should be appreciative of their efforts and contributions as well as wishing them well. All of this doesn't mean I don't feel some disappointment or frustration when a player chooses to leave our programs, but I try to keep it in context. [Post edited by kennedyvt at 02/17/2019 6:21PM]
