Alabama/Saban don't tell you much, they are okay with players leaving and

Alabama/Saban wins National Championships. Expect teams to try to be more like Alabama/Saban. I see the pros and cons to it. (You could replace Alabama/Saban with New England/Belichek for NFL)

Pros: Teams have a harder time scheming for your personnel. (ie teams knowing all your special teams tricks)

Cons: Fans and writers are in the dark a lot and don't feel as connected to the program.

This is not unique to VT, most if not all the programs are adopting this approach, so get used to it, because it's not changing any time soon.
