This is rough on fans

One thing in college is the concept of players sign up to play for your team and they ideally want to be there for 4 years no matter what the internal team situation is.

Now with transfers introduces idea of players come to get play time and if not they will. Go where they can find it so maximize time for personal fulfillment for playing time or visabilify for pros.. rhis perception translate into the concept that players are not signing to the school because of the love and desirabllity of the university Environment - which alumni and friends see; to what’s the best for them . I can’t argue to pursue what’s best for them but it really changes the bond between players coaches and alumni ..

The model is now more commodity and nfl model. I wonder if the fan base loses connection to the team - ( this is general observation not specific to va tech)

I also think the dynamic of the transfers and the kids lack of interest playing football due to long term injuries really affects stability of interest in football programs
