Correct. It's not criminal. However, "free speech" isn't infinite.


For one thing, while a person is free to say pretty much what he wants, "free speech" can have adverse consequences.

You can slander someone with your speech. You can also be convicted of a crime, and you can be sued in civil court for slander, and lose.
