Very debatable. ACC football was not even close to being comparable to

the Big Ten and SEC when the Big Ten started to construct its network and when ESPN started working on the SEC network. Football makes the money....ACC basketball is the best, but the interest from a revenue generating perspective is not close to football. And, college Olympic sports have limited audiences.

I am sure the ACC presidents were on Swofford about a network, but the ACC was not dealing from a position of strength in this matter. Too many small private schools with small alumni and fan bases, and Miami had tanked and never has regained its prominence in football. Boo Hoo football was in the gutter for years (and may revert back soon), UNC - nuff said, GT in the largest southeastern market and can’t carry that, etc.....

I believe we are lucky to even have a network coming on line this year.
