to win the Atlantic Division was probably 2005-2009. Maybe 2010 or 2011 if a few things fell VT's way. So it is possible that VT's best finish was 2nd or 3rd in those early years. At least I am not sure I would assume that VT would have won the same number of division titles if VT had started out in the Atlantic Division from the beginning. It is possible, maybe even likely, that Clemson and NC State during those early years would have become VT's "UNC." I'm hesitant to say "GT" because of PJ's triple option which adds another wrinkle to things.
