1. Imagine if we had landed one of: Tajh Boyd, EJ Emanuel, or Marquise Williams... In any of those scenarios, we have a future first round draft pick playing TE. To me that situation is a microcosm of what happened over the past 20 years. We missed on just one or two key guys/positions and that forced the hand of the offense to be something they weren't good at being - creative.

2. Defense: I'm with you on the D. Bud has been an amazing piece of the VT puzzle over the last 20 years. But his scheme is becoming less and less effective and relevant in CFB. Combine that with the fact that outside the secondary, no one who plays for Bud will likely be able replicate the same position in the NFL.
