"Hokester" is on the money. I too remember when I was at Tech, finished in 1971. Back then, show up with ID, seating was anywhere you wanted to. I'd get there early enough to get a front-row seat even with the FT line, across the court from the Tech bench.

It was fun when Lou Bello called games. He'd do the same thing--engage students in conversation during timeouts. He got to be familiar with several of us and would always come by. Conversations were never about the game but many times the attractive women he would spot while running up and down the floor!
