Worst defensive football group I have ever seen since 87 when...


...I followed Tech for the first time. I know the talent is better but we had guys who just were not football players. I am not talking about talent or speed or size. Dax Hollifield is by far the best
"football player" on that defenese of 18. Sure he was young and made mistakes but he tried to destroy people on the field-you can't teach or coach that. Reggie Floyd was our 2nd best. Ricky Walker gets an honorable mention. The rest were not very good. Many kids were downright awful football players. Couldn't have started in 87 or 88. Bryce Watts couldn't start on any Tech defense that I can remember but he started this year. Don't like calling out kids individually but this is big time football and players and coaches get openly criticized 24/7. It is part of the game now. Sure Bryce Watts is a fine young man.
