The only viable argument for more bowls is that it is a reward for players.


Players usually play hard even if they lose (Mia & FSU notwithstanding)
and one could argue they deserve a bowl trip even for mediocrity.

My beef is that it's usually a recipe for a poor matchup and average play.

I would be OK for teams .500 and lower to have a conference paid trip to spend a week in warm weather without subjecting fans, who pay alot of money to see two average teams play in an anonymous bowl game.

Bottom line is if bowls stop making $ they will cease to exist.
