I’m a VT alumnus, and just moved back to Blacksburg this summer to work at VT. Was in Nova for 14 years working for USG, but accepted the opportunity to come back to work for my school.

VT seems like the best bet for jobs in the area, but there may be options in Christiansburg.

But one thing to correct you on...living in Blacksburg is certainly not cheap. Housing is a little cheaper than Nova (but not by a huge margin), and I’ve found that all of my utilities are actually more down here. Was not expecting that....
