I seroiusly doubt they draft a QB in the first round...
more likely to try and sign a Free Agent and there will be a few options there.
Look at it this way, the last two 1st Round QB picks have seriously hurt the team long term. I have no idea how many QB's are going to be available, but they may think the 2nd or 3rd round guy may be able to grow with a veteran QB playing ahead of him.
This team was looking good for awhile this year. They ran into a wall, then lost Smith, and it was over. They probably think a veteran QB can get them into the playoffs and a rookie QB means they probably have to wait a year or two before they sniff the playoffs again.
I'm not saying any of this is true, but I could see this management thinking this way.
