....they have basically a city school with no college town except for about 5 bars on route one. The football program has no following among alumni. They rarely fill their stadium regardless of their opponent and it looks half empty most of the time. Even though they are the flagship University in Maryland the state is not devoted to them at all. Maryland hoops is much bigger. Other schools have been going into Maryland forever and getting their best players. They are also lousy at getting donations from their alumni. Penn State and VT has been getting a steady supply of MD players for a very long time.
