Cincinnati isn't a bad team... the NFL isn't going to be hung up
on who the competition is. They simply want to see what he looks like in full speed game action while healthy.
I'm not saying that this game is going to catapult him into being a top 10 draft pick. But for some GMs that might have been high on him previously but are a little reluctant due to his performance this year (while likely injured), a good performance in the bowl game could satisfy that uneasiness.
As I said, I don't usually say that one game makes a difference. But given the concerns about a subpar year and a potential injury, playing well in the bowl game (against a G5 program that is probably better than half of the ACC teams we faced this year) could ease those concerns.
Of course, if he's still nicked up, then he should probably skip the game.
