I really don't know what purpose this "institution" serves anymore (if it ever served one at all).

I realize we can appear to be biased in the case of Nolley, but the situation reeks of politicial gamesmanship. I've said all along the NCAA as an institution still hasn't gotten over the Bruce Smith ordeal and will take any opportunity that comes its way to punish VT, with Nolley being the victim in this case.

How much does the NCAA "cost" schools? Isn't this an expense that could go away if the P5 break away and run the business on their own?
