ACC and Major Bowl Picks

Hard to believe that another regular season has come and gone. We still have never as a TSL community experienced the Hokies failing to make a bowl.

Anyways, on to the bowls. I'm going to pick the playoffs/NY6 and then the rest of the ACC Bowls (this won't be a good look for our league)....

Playoffs:
Cotton Bowl: Notre Dame 27 Clemson 23: The Irish are by far the best team the Tigers have seen all year. The Irish have a resume that includes a win over Michigan. This won't be the Tiger cakewalk many are calling for. In fact, the Irish may just pull the upset....
Orange Bowl: Alabama 42 Oklahoma 24: Alabama plays defense. Oklahoma... well, we all know the answer to that.
National Title: Alabama 49 Notre Dame 21: Alabama once again, clearly the best team.

Sugar Bowl: Georgia 41 Texas 21: Georgia is probably the best team not to make the playoffs. Texas is probably the worst NY6 participant.
Rose Bowl: Ohio State 44 Washington 36: This is a sneaky good game. OSU has had problems on defense all year long. But the offense will keep the game just out of the reach of the Huskies
Fiesta Bowl: LSU 31 UCF 17: If Melton were playing, I'd pick UCF. But I think the Tiger D keeps UCF's backup in check.
Peach Bowl: Michigan 30 Florida 23: Outside of the epic beatdown at the hands of the Buckeyes, the Wolverines have looked good all year (we didn't know how good ND was early on). Florida has been a bit of a question to me all year.

ACC Bowls:
Camping World Bowl: West Virginia 52 Syracuse 21: Syracuse made a living on a very down league and a SR laden roster. WVU has some very good SRs... and more talent. Grier is an excellent QB. I expect a beatdown.

Belk Bowl: South Carolina 34 Virginia 14: Another outmatched ACC opponent. Not that the Gamecocks are world beaters, but this is not a good matchup for the Hoos.
Gator Bowl: Texas A&M 45 NC State 35: Defense will be at a premium here. This should be an exciting game, but the Aggies pull it off.
Sun Bowl: Stanford 27 Pittsburgh 20: The Panthers certainly played better towards the end of the year than they did at the beginning. But Stanford did too and nearly knocked off Washington State and Washington.
Pinstripe Bowl: Wisconsin 28 Miami 17: We saw this game last year in the Orange Bowl. I see a fairly similar game too.

Independence Bowl: Duke 24 Temple 21: Daniel Jones is the difference here. Not to mention Temple is without a coach with Collins bolting for the ACC.
Quick Lane Bowl: Georgia Tech 23 Minnesota 20: Paul Johnson gets sent out with a W.
First Reponder Bowl: Boise State 38 Boston College 17: BC holds up for about a half... but then the Broncos roll.
Birmingham Bowl: Memphis 51 Wake Forest 27: Memphis can score some points... and Wake can give up some points. Memphis's offense takes advantage of the Wake defense and rolls.

And finally.....
Military Bowl: Virginia Tech 34 Cincinnati 24: Cincinnati is the 10 win team... but the Hokies looked like a team with a pulse in the final two games and they started to show fight (which they appeared to lack at points of the year). The extra bowl prep gives more time to grow and develop and the Hokies win. TechSideline continues to never have to "mourn" a losing season for the Hokie football team.

For those scoring at home, that puts the ACC at 3-8. Hope I'm wrong.
