If statistics have anything to do with it, the following will clear up the problem with game experience this past season: (based on the unofficial roster dated 11/26/18)
# of Seniors: 6. (5%)
# of Juniiors: 20. (18%)
# of Soph. 26. (23%)
# of Fresh. 60. (54%). That right!! More than half the football team are Fresh./Red-shirt Fresh.
Total: 112 players

Let's look at experience as denoted by the letters in football won.
Seniors: 17 letters. (The 6 seniors have been awarded a total of 17 letters - that's where the "experience came from in my opinion. 6 Seniors).
Juniors: 16 letters. (That's a little less than 1 letter per junior).
Soph.: 17 letters. (Only 2/3rds of Soph. have been awarded letters).

When we look back on the "season of inexperience" it becomes more evident as shown by the above analysis that we were lucky to beat Duke, UVa, and even Florida State. The coaches did a great job of squeezing out the victories from the inexperience team as they did. How many FBS teams had 77% Freshman and Sophomores on their teams. Let's hope for a healthy team to play against Cincy in the Military Bowl. As just wait until next year!!!!
