Is DEFENSE DEAD in Major College Football & the NFL?
The scores in both over the year are inflating at a remarkable rate. Yes the new rules favor the Offense, but the Offenses seemed to be way ahead of the Defenses. There was a great segment on the NFL this morning and how Defenses aren’t adapting in particular on first down calling. Coaches/QB’s just don’t run on first down as much. Also mentioned the Bears using the two safety formation more and having more success. There are times when the predominant Offense changes and the Defenses just have to adapt and catch up.
Do you think that is the case and why?
