would say 20 years ago it might have meant something. When I was in school in the 80s we did have an inferiority complex. Going to a bowl game or being on ESPN was a huge deal as was beating UVA. Todays players literally have no memory of losing this game. Current students were babies or very small children the last time we lost. It doesnt mean as much to them. It cant. To keep suggesting that it does has no basis in reality.
